Footprints in the City of Angels

I’m a touch and feel everything kind of shopper. So Covid life definitely saves me a lot of money because it’s just a little less fun while the safe shopping experience has become mostly virtual. However, with the vaccine coming out and people (the sensible ones of course) are feeling slowly but surely more at ease to resume a somewhat normal lifestyle, I too am slowly but surely returning to placing my work at stores that I like in Los Angeles.
Hello 2021. Let’s start with these two:
3319 W Magnolia Blvd., Burbank, CA 91505
(818) 840-0123
Amanda Vernon is the girl boss of this gem. She has been working with local artists since 2009 and has always been supportive of the makers’ community. Visit her cozy and inviting store, check out my jewelry and hundreds of other goodies from home decor, greeting cards, books, apparel and more.
1812 N Vermont Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90027
(323) 660-0869
Owner Sumi Siegel started selling her mother Carita’s beautiful handmade bags from Finland back in 1999. By chance, she found the perfect location in the heart of Los Feliz and started her retail business in 2005. Sumi’s is known for high quality and unique jewelry as well as tasteful home decor and accessories, many of them animal themed.
Both stores have a limited traffic capacity and require customers to wear masks to enter. They also have handmade masks with gorgeous fabric available in store for purchase. Please be considerate and cautious, and have a great time supporting local businesses!
