My name is Chloe Kono. I am an LA-based creative metalsmith. I graduated from California State University, Long Beach in 2008 with a BFA degree.
The "stage name" Chloeography reflects how my creation is original, connected to my soul and body, and full of emotion like a dance. Among the numerous media available, my choice of poison is metal because to me, metal is full of character and wild possibilities– forgiving yet with a life of its own.
I consider my work a wearable mood booster for all, and I create with the intention of making every piece as a warm reminder to smile, no matter your age, gender, body type and background.
My obsession with all things circus comes from not only its whimsical and unhinged aesthetics, but the core idea of how uniqueness should be something to be celebrated instead of tamed.
Wouldn’t the world be a little prettier if we all respect and be inspired of our differences?
